Key phrases

ほんや は なんかいですか。

What floor is the bookstore on?

トイレは どこですか。ーここ です。

Where is the restroom? – It is here.

Where are the cameras? ーこちらです。

Where is the restroom? – It is here. (polite)

Form

X は Yです。  X is Y.   

・“は” is a topic marker
・“です” works like the English verb “be”

わたし の しゅみ は どくしょ です。 – My hobby is reading.

X も Y です。 X is also Y.   

・ “も” means “also / too”.
・ It replaces “は” when you add yourself to the same topic.

わたし も がくせい です。– I am also a student.

わたし の しゅみ  どくしょ です。-My hobby is also reading.

A と B   A and B

“と” means “and”.
・ It connects two or more nouns.

わたし の しゅみ は テニス えいが です。-My hobbies are tennis and movie.

FAQ

Not exactly.
「と」 can only connect nouns.
It cannot connect sentences.

✅ Noun + と + Noun

|えいが と おんがく (movies and music)

❌ Sentence + と + Sentence

|わたし は にほんじん です と がくせい です。 ❌

To connect sentences, use:
👉 それから (and / then)
